Thank You

Wow... I should have started a new blog sooner! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have been commenting here this past week. There have been more comments in one week here than there had been in the last 6 months on the old site. So, to Jason, Sean, Jon, Jeph, Sarah, Steven, Scott, Emily, Ron, Paula, Sheila, Betsy, James, and Adam... THANKS. I'm feeling the love.

How this is supposed to work

In a perfect world, blogging should be a conversation. When people comment the person writing the blog feels a much stronger obligation to post regularly and to try to have something interesting to say. When people don't comment, it's pretty easy to just think that no one is reading except your mom and why should you bother writing if no one is reading. That's absolutely what happened on my own site... for whatever reason people stopped commenting and I had no motivation to write and it was a downward spiral from there.

So... my hope is that folks will comment. I know there are many people who read this blog who have never commented (people from church, I'm talking to you) and I hope with this fresh start that things will change.

Here, I'll give you a topic to get started. You know who I want to slap? People who wear those bluetooth cell phone earpiece things and talk on them when they're in the grocery store so they look like they're walking up and down the isles talking to themselves. It takes a great amount of willpower for me to not smack those things out of people's ears. Anyone with me?

A Funky Fresh Start

You've found me. I had a great run over on the emergingminister site... over four years of somewhat regular blogging there. Much has happened in that time... new child, pending adoption, a new job, new passions, new music... reading back on the early posts from the old blog I barely remember that guy. Time passes quickly as the old Bob Dylan song says.

Anyway... welcome to my new blogging home. This blog is going to have a decidedly different tone and feel from the old... we'll see how it goes. Welcome!
